Country music fans share excitement for VOA Music Fest headliner


Country music lovers are excited about this year’s Voices of American Music Festival headliner announced Thursday — the one and only Carrie Underwood set to take center stage. It’s the festival’s third year, and it looks like it’s shaping up to be the biggest yet.”She puts on a great show, there’s no doubt about it,” said Big Dave, radio host of B-105.We sat down with Big Dave to talk about the big news.”I’ve known for quite some time, and we’ve all been waiting. I guess there were some, you know, T’s to cross and I’s to dot right,” he said. “I’m excited to finally get it out there.”This won’t be his first time meeting this year’s headliner, the two have met twice before.”Once was at a show 2016 right down at Heritage Bank Center,” Big Dave said. “Then the only time before that was, I mean, she wasn’t long out of American Idol because she was opening for Brad Paisley at Riverbend.”He’s been covering VOA Fest since year one and is excited to see what this next year has in store.”They’re making it better and better each year,” he said.Last year, the festival brought in roughly 100,000 fans over the four-day weekend.The festival returns in August with so many amazing artists this year.Besides Underwood, there’s Darius Rucker, Hardy, Bailey Zimmerman, Shaboozy and local star Carly Pearce.
