Louis Vuitton is launching a beauty. I know what you’re thinking, don’t we have enough of these? We do, but that doesn’t stop them from coming. Louis Vuitton has always been adjacent to beauty since it launched its first fragrance in 1927. At the time they also had powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors. Over the years, they evolved to make mostly fragrances but always offered their signature monogrammed vanity cases. Now they’re giving us products to fill those cases.
The makeup brand, La Beauté Louis Vuitton is launching this fall, and they tapped the icon, Pat McGrath to be the creative director of the brand. McGrath and Louis Vuitton’s beauty relationship is not a new one. She’s been working with the brand for over 20 years. In 2015, McGrath launched her namesake makeup brand. In 2016, she painted colorful designs on models’ faces at the French house’s resort show in Palm Springs. Since then, she’s painted flames on models faces at Louis Vuitton shows and futuristic abstract eyes. On and off the runway, McGrath is known for her pigmented, bold lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes, which can make an artist out of anyone.

According to WWD, the range of products will include 55 lipsticks, ten lip balms and eight eye palettes. My guess is that there’s an array of mattes, satins and maybe even some galactic-like shimmery colors and I’m sure they’ll be the most gorgeous LV monogrammed lipsticks. We never know with Dame McGrath. The collection has reportedly been in research and development for four years. “The beauty universe is so much more than just product, and what we’re creating here will unlock a new level in luxury beauty,” a McGrath quote reads on louisvuitton.com. The collection will officially launch in the fall. We will have to wait and see.
