President’s Day reminders; Master Gardeners offer advice

President's Day is Monday, Feb. 17.

1. PRESIDENT’S DAY WEEKEND: City of Marco Island has some reminders

The city of Marco Island is sharing some reminders ahead of President’s Day weekend.

Trash: Beaches are crowded on holiday weekends. We ask beachgoers to put trash in the receptacles or pack it up and take it with you. Do not leave personal items or trash on the beach. Noise: Marco Island’s noise ordinance will be enforced and there are no warnings given after 10 p.m. Any concerns related to noise should be reported to the Marco Island Police Department at 239-389-5050.

Parking: Beach parking is available at Tigertail Beach and South Beach. Vehicles must not block the road to wait for parking spaces. While parking in the swale is legal, some residential streets are marked indicating that parking in the swales is prohibited. There is no legal street parking available outside of the Caxambas Park parking lot. Vehicles that are parked illegally may be ticketed and are subject to being towed.
