Just when you thought ‘Nobody Wants This’ couldn’t possibly get any better – it does: Netflix has announced Leighton Meester is joining the cast!
The Gossip Girl alum will join her real-life husband, Adam Brody who plays Noah on the show, as well as fellow Gossip Girlie Kristen Bell (who plays Joanne) in the forthcoming season. She’ll guest star as Abby, Joanne’s former school nemesis.
I mean, chef’s kiss to whoever thought of this.
According to an exclusive by Variety, Miles Fowler will join Leighton in a guest role. He’ll play Lenny, one of the Matzah Ballers who gets set up with Joanne’s sister, Morgan.

When will ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2 be released?
There’s no official timeline for the second season just yet but we do know it will be out sometime this year.
Series creator Erin Foster recently posted a photo on socials of the cast gathering for a table read. So it sounds like we won’t have to wait too long!
Who is in the cast of ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2?
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody will reprise their roles as leads, Joanne and Noah. Justine Lupe will return as Joanne’s sister Morgan, and Timothy Simons will return as Noah’s brother, Sasha.
The first season also starred Sherry Cola as Joanne and Morgan’s friend and manager, Ashley, Tovah Feldshuh as Noah’s mum Bina, Paul Ben-Victorb as Noah’s dad Ilan, Emily Artook as Noah’s ex, Rebecca and Jackie Tohn as Noah’s sister-in-law Esther.
And this time, we’ll have Leighton and Miles too, of course!

What is the plot of ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2?
Spoilers ahead so do not read if you haven’t watched all of Season 1 yet, okay?
Okay.
The first season ended on a major cliffhanger with Joanne and Noah wondering if there’s a world in which they can actually be together. Joanne said she’s not prepared to convert Judaism, and didn’t know if she’d ever want to change herself for him. And Noah came to the realisation he’d have to choose between his dream of becoming Head Rabbi or being with the woman he loves.
No details have been released about the plot for season 2 so stay tuned!
Was ‘Nobody Wants This’ inspired by a true story?
The series is loosely based on creator Erin Foster’s relationship with her now-husband, Simon Tikhman. Whilst Simon isn’t a Rabbi like Adam Brody’s character, Erin is a podcaster and she did convert to Judaism! The couple now share a 4-month-old daughter named Noa Mimi.
